About
Travis Blackwell has worked in stage management for theatre, opera, dance, and events across the United States. He is currently the Stage Manager for the And Peggy Tour of Hamilton.
Tours: Hamilton (Puerto Rico, San Francisco, Angelica Tour), The Bodyguard, The Color Purple. Off-Broadway: Oklahoma! (St. Ann’s Warehouse), the loser, Road Trip (Bang on a Can), FLEXN Evolution, Circle Map (Park Avenue Armory), The Slow Room (Annie Dorsen/PS122).
Regional: Our Town, Once, A Chorus Line, Man of La Mancha (Weston Playhouse), Candide, The Magic Flute, Odyssey (The Glimmerglass Festival), Lost Nation Theatre, and the Orpheum Theatre Memphis. His event experience includes galas, festivals, and special occasions featuring talent ranging from Cirque du Soleil to Renée Fleming.
He is a proud member of Actors' Equity Association (AEA) and United States Institute of Theatre Technology (USITT). He is especially proud to be an three-time participant of the USITT Stage Management Mentor Project. As a guest artist, Travis has been delighted to teach SM workshops and serve as guest speaker at Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, Brigham Young University-Idaho, The College of New Jersey, Weston Playhouse Theatre Company, and the Orpheum Theatre (Memphis). He holds a BFA from the University of Memphis.
